Overview

Your second brain for the web — save, organize, and rediscover.

Cairn is a private, powerful personal library for everything you discover on the web. Instead of losing useful articles, tutorials, recipes, videos, images, ideas, and important passages inside crowded browser bookmarks or dozens of open tabs, save them to Cairn and organize them in a way that is easy to search and revisit. Save the current webpage with one click, capture selected text, or right-click any supported link or image to add it directly to your library. You can also save supported YouTube and Vimeo pages, add personal notes, assign tags, and organize content into collections and nested collections. Cairn helps you build a structured knowledge library around your work, interests, research, and everyday life. Create collections such as Work, Programming, Design, Recipes, Travel, Ideas, or Read Later, then add subcollections whenever you need more organization. Search your entire library instantly using page titles, website names, tags, notes, and saved article text. Mark important items as favorites, archive content you no longer need to see regularly, and quickly find anything you saved in the past. For longer articles, Cairn includes a clean, distraction-free reading view. You can highlight important passages and return later to continue reading where you stopped. Use the browser popup for fast saving and quick searches, or open the full library page when you want to browse, organize, edit, and manage all your saved content. Cairn also includes several appearance options, including light, dark, midnight, sepia, and system themes. Your library stays private. Cairn does not require an account and does not upload your saved content to an external server. Everything is stored locally in your browser on your device. You can export your entire library as a JSON backup, import it again later, or permanently delete all stored data whenever you choose. Install Cairn if you want a more organized, searchable, and private alternative to traditional browser bookmarks, open tabs, and scattered notes.
