Overview
Tab manager that saves your open tabs as named workspaces — close everything, restore your session in one click. No account.
Cairn is a tab manager for what you're working on right now. Save everything you have open as a named workspace, close it all, and restore the whole session in one click. You have 30 tabs open and can't close them, because closing them means losing them. Cairn turns that pile into workspaces you can put down and pick back up — close everything guilt-free, then get it all back exactly as it was. **HOW IT WORKS** Save what you have open as a named workspace (groups, pinned state, and order all preserved) → close your browser or move on to something else → click Continue whenever you're ready, and every page reopens exactly where you left off. **WHAT ELSE IT DOES** - Universal search — one search box across your open pages, saved workspaces, browsing history, bookmarks, and notes at once. - Notes — each one carries its own notes, right next to the work they're about. - Browser cleanup — finds duplicates and stale pages, and suggests groups from shared domains and keywords. Nothing closes or rearranges without your explicit confirmation, every time. - Temporary tabs — mark one to expire in an hour, today, tomorrow, or a time you pick, and get a reminder instead of forgetting it in the pile. - Optional AI — summarize a workspace, find themes across it, or spot contradictions. **YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE** No account. No server. No telemetry. Everything Cairn saves lives in Chrome's local storage on your device. Your history and bookmarks are read locally to power search and are never transmitted anywhere. The one exception is the optional AI feature, which is off until you turn it on. It uses your own API key (Anthropic, OpenAI, or a custom or local endpoint), and before any request goes out you are shown the exact text that will be sent — the titles, URLs, and page text from the pages you selected. Nothing is ever sent automatically or in the background. **WHY NOT JUST BOOKMARKS** Bookmarks are for pages you'll want someday. They save one link at a time and lose all arrangement. Cairn saves everything open right now — every page, with its groups, pinned state, and order — restorable in one click. **WHY NOT "REOPEN CLOSED TAB"** That only covers the last few minutes. Cairn is named, intentional, and permanent.
