Essentials for YouTube

Filters YouTube's subscriptions feed by your rules, hides any video in a click, and keeps the videos you began on top.

Make YouTube's subscriptions feed show only what you want to watch. RULES Write rules about all your channels or a chosen few: hide Shorts, keep only videos whose title contains certain words, drop those that contain others, hide live streams, or keep only videos longer or shorter than a number of minutes. Rules are tried from the top down and the first one that matches decides, so "from this channel, only the podcast" or "only these channels" take two rules. HIDE ANY VIDEO Every video in the feed gets a Hide button under it. Changed your mind? Undo it from the message that appears, or bring it back from the extension's popup. CONTINUE WATCHING The videos you began and did not finish leave the feed for a row above it, from your watch history and from the feed, wherever you watched them. WHY AM I SEEING THIS The Rules button under any video shows every rule about its channel and which one decided, and starts a new rule from that video's own title and length. ONE LIST YouTube's "Most relevant" picks, which only repeat videos further down, are taken away, so the feed is one list, newest first. SETTINGS Optionally, make YouTube's logo open your subscriptions instead of the home page. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no server, no tracking. Your rules stay in your browser (and in Chrome sync, if you use it); nothing is ever sent anywhere. Essentials for YouTube is not affiliated with, endorsed by or produced by YouTube or Google.
