FocusGuard — Website Blocker & Time Limit
Overview
Website blocker for focus & productivity. Set a daily time limit on any site and get blocked when your time runs out.
FocusGuard is a free website blocker and screen time tracker for Chrome. Decide how many minutes a day you want to give YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram or any other distracting site. FocusGuard counts only your active use, and once your daily allowance runs out, you're locked out until midnight. Everything stays on your device: no account, no sign-up, no data collection. MAIN FEATURES • A daily time limit for each site: anywhere from 1 to 480 minutes, with quick presets of 15m, 30m, 1h and 2h. • Fair counting: only the tab you're looking at counts. Background tabs and minimized windows don't. • Whole-site coverage: a rule for youtube.com also applies to m.youtube.com and every other subdomain. • Countdown on the toolbar icon: see what's left at a glance, shown in amber when you're running low. • Early warning: a notification when 90% of your allowance is gone. • A calm "time's up" page with today's total and a countdown to the reset, not an angry wall. • Mindful extra time (optional): type a short sentence (pasting is off) and wait a moment to unlock 5 more minutes, then 3, then 1. Each step takes longer, and you can turn the feature off entirely. • Built-in commitment: stricter settings apply at once. Raising an allowance or dropping a rule you've used today waits until tomorrow, so a weak moment can't undo your plan. • Automatic reset every midnight, with each day saved to your history. INSIGHTS INTO YOUR HABITS • Today, month to date, and a comparison with the same days last month • Your streak of days under every limit, plus your best streak • A heatmap by weekday and hour that reveals when distraction peaks • A 30-day trend with your best and worst day • Filter by domain and export to CSV The toolbar popup shows today's usage with live progress bars, a 7-day chart and your daily average. HOW TO USE 1. Click the FocusGuard icon in the toolbar. 2. Choose "Track this site", or add any address on the Sites & limits page. 3. Pick your daily minutes. 4. Browse as usual. You get a heads-up near the end and a block once you're out. PRIVACY All data is stored locally in your browser and never leaves it. No analytics, no ads. The extension needs access to websites only to measure usage on the sites you add and to show the block page there. Available in 15 languages, following your browser's language. Made for students, remote workers and anyone who wants better focus, less procrastination and healthier digital wellbeing.
