Detects PII in page inputs and pastes, then redacts it locally before it leaves your browser.

Ever pasted a chat log, a support ticket, or a form into the wrong box and only noticed afterward that it had your phone number or ID card in it? PII Guard catches that moment before it happens. It watches what you type and paste into web pages, spots personal data and secrets as they appear, and masks them — like [EMAIL] or [PHONE] — before the text is submitted, with one click to undo if it got something wrong. WHY INSTALL IT • Stops accidental leaks at the source: your own typos and paste mistakes, not some external threat — the everyday way personal data actually gets exposed. • Works everywhere, automatically. No configuration needed to get protection on every site; turn it off per-site or globally whenever you want. • Recognizes real-world formats out of the box: emails, phone numbers (including Indonesian +62/08xx), credit cards, IBANs, API keys and secrets, and Indonesian NIK/KK and NPWP numbers — plus you can add your own custom patterns for anything else you handle regularly. • Nothing to trust but your own browser: it runs entirely on your device, so there's no service to sign up for, no account, and no cloud dependency that could itself become a data risk. HOW IT WORKS As you type or paste into any input, textarea, or editable field, PII Guard checks the text against its detectors. A match gets swapped for a mask before the page ever sees the original value, with an on-page notification so you always know what happened and can undo it instantly. EXTRA CONTROLS • Per-site toggle from the popup for sites where you don't need it • Named whitelist profiles (e.g. "Work" / "Personal") you can switch between, with bulk import from a .txt file • Custom regex rules for formats specific to your own work • Optional settings password so shared or managed devices can't have protection casually turned off • Optional action guard: block file uploads, form submissions, and logins on non-whitelisted sites until an administrator password is entered — toggle it right from the popup, next to the main on/off switch • A running counter of redactions made, right in the popup Full privacy policy: https://brahmanggi.github.io/pii-guard-privacy/
