Byte Cast
Overview
Record browser bugs with video, console & network logs. One click creates a ClickUp bug task with report and attachments.
Byte Cast is a QA bug recorder for development teams. Start a recording, reproduce the bug, stop — it captures everything automatically. WHAT IT CAPTURES • Screen recording of the browser tab or full screen (WebM video) • Console logs (errors, warnings, info) with timestamps • Network requests and responses including status codes and bodies • Click and navigation events as a step-by-step reproduction path • Screenshots on demand during recording • Android / iOS device screens over USB (requires the free local helper) WHAT IT DOES WITH THE DATA Everything is stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you click "Create Bug Task" — at which point it uploads to your own ClickUp account using your own API token. CREATING BUG TASKS • Creates a bug subtask under any ClickUp parent task • Fills the task description with a structured bug report • Attaches a self-contained HTML report (video + screenshots + logs + steps) • Optionally uses Claude AI (your own Anthropic API key) to generate the bug title and summary — works without it too MOBILE RECORDING Plug in an Android or iOS device, click Record Mobile, and it captures the device screen alongside the logs. Requires a one-time local helper install (free, open source). PRIVACY All captured data stays in your browser's local storage. No analytics, no tracking, no data is sent to Byte Cast's servers.
