Overview
View IFC models and check their accuracy against E57 or LAS point clouds - measure, section and report. Files stay on your PC.
bViewer opens IFC building models in Chrome and lets you check how accurately they match the real building, using E57 or LAS laser scan point clouds. There is nothing to install and nothing to upload: your models and scans stay on your own computer. Made by Bury Associates, UK Scan to BIM surveyors, for architects, engineers, surveyors, contractors and building owners who need to see whether a model fits what was actually built. CHECK THE MODEL AGAINST THE SCAN - ΔModel check: hover over the point cloud and a ring shows the distance to the nearest model surface - green within tolerance, red outside it. - Drop labelled checks wherever you need them. The tolerance is 20 mm to start with and you can change it. - Check against all loaded point clouds, or just one. - Check nearest: switches on the scans closest to the spot you click, so you check against the best data. - Report only the out-of-tolerance checks if you prefer. VIEW IFC MODELS - Opens IFC2x3, IFC4 and IFC4.3 from Revit, ArchiCAD or any BIM package - several models at once. - Model tree by storey and class, and IFC properties for anything you click. - Storey plans with adjustable top and bottom, standard views, X-ray and edges. - Eye level: click a floor to look round a room from 1.5 m above it. - Magnifier: look closely at a cube from 100 mm to 3 m round any point. WORK WITH POINT CLOUDS - E57 and LAS point clouds open with the model, in their own coordinates. - Colour by RGB, intensity, height, height bands, normals or a solid colour. - Up to 10 clouds on at once, with handy controls to switch between them. SECTION, CLIP AND MEASURE - Horizontal and vertical sections from a face, one point or two points, with an optional thin slice. - Clip boxes from an object, a point or three points. Polygon clips. Hide above or below a level. - Measure distances and areas on the model or straight off the scan. - Align and reposition models and clouds, then export them in their new positions. REPORT - Pin comments to the model, take screen grabs, and export a multi-page PDF report with a title block and sheet numbers. - Save the whole job as a project file. bViewer autosaves every 5 minutes. PRIVATE BY DESIGN bViewer runs entirely in your browser. Files are read from your computer and are never uploaded. There are no accounts, no tracking and no adverts.
