Stem: Flat, oval or round like a rabbit's ear, covered with a layer of gray-green wax. On the surface of the stem there are many small thorns (glochid), often growing in clusters. Flowers: Growing on the edge of the stem, bright yellow, cup-shaped with many layers of petals. The stamens are thick and pale yellow to white inside. Flowers usually bloom in spring or early summer, very eye-catching and stand out in the arid environment. Buds and fruits: Green cone-shaped buds, later turning red and blooming.
