Bump Around
Overview
Escape the feed. Discover hand-picked websites across 56 topics, save great detours, and explore Community charts.
Bump Around is a one-click escape hatch from the predictable internet. Open the Chrome side panel, press BUMP ME SOMEWHERE, and land on a hand-picked website that is useful, inspiring, curious, or wonderfully strange. "For StumbleUpon Nostalgics!" DISCOVER WITHOUT THE FEED • Explore thousands of curated websites instead of another endless recommendation feed. • Leave every topic open for pure serendipity or tune the signal with 56 interests. • Avoid repeats across your 250 most recent Bump domains. • If a narrow topic runs out of fresh sites, Bump Around tells you and offers clear ways to continue. MAKE DISCOVERY YOURS • Like a site to gently steer later discoveries. • Choose Never Again to block a site from returning. • Save worthwhile finds to your local Library. • Reopen your current and previous detours without leaving the side panel. EXPLORE THE COMMUNITY SIGNAL • Bump up an approved discovery directly from the main panel. • Browse Top Overall and Top by Category charts for this month or all time. • Submit a new website with one to four suitable categories for human moderation. • Report broken links, spam, login walls, unsafe content, or category problems. • Community popularity never changes normal Discover recommendations. BUILT FOR CURIOUS PEOPLE Bump Around is for designers hunting for inspiration, developers looking for interesting tools, students taking a quick mental break, and anyone who misses wandering into the unusual corners of the web. SIMPLE TO START A short three-step tutorial appears on the first opening of each new version. You can replay it at any time from the Tutorial link in the footer. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account or sign-up. • No advertising profile, data sale, or cross-site tracking. • No access to passwords, personal files, page contents, or unrelated Chrome browsing history. • Topics, reactions, the local Library, and recent Bump destinations are stored using Chrome extension storage. • To choose a fresh destination, Bump Around sends the selected topics and up to 250 URLs previously opened or blocked through Bump Around to its selection service. • Optional Community votes, submissions, and reports use a random pseudonymous installation token. Submitted and reported URLs are sent to a human moderation queue. Bump Around is an independent project. If it sends you somewhere good, the optional Buy Me a Coffee link helps keep the catalogue fresh and the project alive. Open the side panel, tune the signal if you want, and press BUMP ME SOMEWHERE. WHAT'S NEW IN 1.4.0 • Added Community voting and monthly or all-time charts, including category leaderboards. • Added one-to-four-category website submissions and catalogue reports with human moderation. • Added a welcome tutorial on the first opening of each version, plus a permanent Tutorial link. • Added a visible build number, a Home logo, and clearer navigation. • Expanded no-repeat discovery to 250 recent domains with clear options when a topic is exhausted. • Made submission and report confirmations quicker while moderation delivery continues safely in the background. • Added a clearer way to support the independent developer. • Kept Community popularity separate from personal Discover recommendations. • Added no new permissions.
