Bulk Image Resize — many images, many sizes, one click Resize a whole folder of images into every size you need at once. Drop in twenty photos, ask for eleven sizes, and get 220 files back in a single archive. Everything happens inside your own browser: your images are never uploaded, and the extension makes no network requests while it works. PRIVATE BY DESIGN There is no server. There is no account. The extension requests only two permissions — storage, for your settings, and downloads, for saving your results — and declares no access to any website. Your photos never leave your device. WHAT IT DOES Add images by dragging them anywhere onto the page, browsing for them, or dropping in a whole folder or a .zip archive. Pick your output sizes from quick-add buttons, type any custom width and height, or load one of ten built-in presets: favicon sets, PWA icons, iOS and Android app icons, social media formats, e-commerce product photos, thumbnails and responsive web widths. You can save your own size sets too. Choose how images are adapted when a photo's shape doesn't match the size you asked for. Fit keeps the whole image and pads the leftover space. Fill covers the frame and crops the overflow, with a nine-point control for choosing which part is kept. Stretch gives an exact size at the cost of proportions. Match width and Match height keep the original proportions and recalculate the other dimension. Each option shows a small diagram of what it actually does, and a separate page explains the differences in full. Output as PNG, JPEG or WebP, or let Auto match the source format. A quality slider handles the lossy formats, and a target file size option lowers quality automatically until each file fits your limit. Name your files with a pattern — {name}, {w}, {h} and {index} — and see the exact filename before you commit. Take your results as one ZIP, as separate downloads, or save them straight into a folder you choose, skipping the archive entirely. Also included: rotate and flip, a never-enlarge option, a padding colour for transparent areas, a live preview against your first image, settings import and export, and dark mode that follows your system theme. WHAT WE FIXED This release is a thorough pass over the extension's real defects, several of which quietly destroyed work. Filenames no longer overwrite your output. The old default pattern substituted width but not height, so resizing to 1200x630 and 1200x675 produced one file instead of two. The default is fixed, older installs are migrated, and your pattern is now checked against your actual images and sizes before processing starts — with a one-click fix if it would collide. Exports independently guarantee unique names as a final safeguard. One bad image no longer destroys the batch. A single corrupt or unsupported file used to abort the whole run, discard everything already resized, and report a meaningless error. Failures are now isolated to the file — and even to the individual size — that caused them. The batch continues and the summary tells you exactly what was skipped and why. Corrupt settings no longer break the extension permanently. Malformed or outdated stored data used to throw during startup and leave a dead window with no way to recover. Every setting is now validated and repaired field by field. The extension is a full page rather than a popup. A popup closes when it loses focus, which the file picker does — so the old surface routinely threw away your selection partway through. Format and filename can no longer disagree. Output was hardcoded to PNG while the filename was free text, so a .jpg name reliably produced a file full of PNG bytes. Large reductions look sharp. Collapsing a 2000px image to 16px in one step aliases badly, which is exactly the icon workflow this tool exists for. Images are now halved repeatedly until they are close to the target size. Also fixed: EXIF orientation is honoured, so photographs no longer come out sideways. JPEG output fills transparency with your chosen colour instead of black. Images are decoded once rather than once per size. Memory is released properly. Filenames are sanitised against illegal characters and reserved names. Progress, cancellation and a clear results summary replace a disabled button and a blocking alert. WebP is correctly offered in browsers that support it. Every control is keyboard operable with visible focus, and results are announced to screen readers. Requires Chrome 102 or later. Saving directly into a folder needs a browser with File System Access support and hides itself where unavailable.
