Overview

Better tabs management for Chrome.

btrtabs automatically moves the new tabs you open intentionally (Ctrl+T, ⌘T, the "+" button) to the start of the window, right after your pinned tabs. Why? When you work with a lot of tabs, new ones land all the way on the right — the hardest place to find them and the farthest from your cursor. btrtabs fixes that: the tab you just created is always one click away. What btrtabs does: • Ctrl+T / ⌘T / "+" button → new tab placed at the start (or just after pinned tabs) • Ctrl+Click on a link, target="_blank", window.open(...) → the tab keeps its natural position, right after its parent • External links opened from another app (Slack, mail…) → left untouched • Session restore → left untouched What btrtabs does NOT do: • No reading of page content • No data collection, no network calls • No trackers, no ads • No account, no third-party service Permissions: • "tabs" — to detect tab creation and reposition it • "storage" — to persist your preferences locally Everything runs 100% locally in a Manifest V3 service worker. The codebase is intentionally minimal and easy to audit.
