Overview

A cute virtual pet that walks on your web pages. Drag, throw, feed and level up your panda, penguin, cat, dog or bear as you browse.

Browsing Pet is a virtual pet that lives right on top of the websites you visit. It walks along the bottom of your screen, flies around, reacts when you play with it, and grows as you browse. Think of a desktop pet or a pocket tamagotchi, but inside Chrome. Pick one animal, give it some attention, and watch it level up over the days you spend online. ★ CHOOSE YOUR PET Start with one of six animals, each with its own personality, speed and favourite food: - Cat: quick and playful. Loves fish. - Dog: friendly, with lots of stamina. Loves bones. - Bird: a light flyer that spends most of its time in the air. Loves berries. - Parrot: a flyer with a lot to say. Loves seeds. - Snake: slithers slowly and hops low. Loves mice. - Crocodile: heavy, strong and unbothered. Loves meat. Every pet is drawn as a real animal with legs that walk, wings that flap, tails that wag, eyes that blink and tongues that flick. No blobs. ★ DRAG IT, THROW IT, WATCH IT FALL - Grab your pet with the mouse and move it anywhere on the page. - Let go with a flick to throw it. Fast throws make it tumble through the air. - Throw it downward and the page scrolls along with it as it falls to the bottom. - When it lands hard it says "Ouch!". Too much rough play and it gets dizzy for a moment. Tougher animals, like the crocodile, can take more. ★ FEED IT, PET IT, KEEP IT HAPPY - Click your pet to open its menu. - Feed it a treat and watch the food drop onto the page while your pet runs over to eat it. - Pet it for hearts and a happiness boost. - Hunger slowly rises while you browse. Hungry birds and parrots land and walk instead of flying. - Leave your pet alone for 20 minutes and it gets bored, sighs, and tells you so in a thought bubble. - Thought bubbles show how it feels: "Yay!", "Food…", "I'm bored…", "Ouch!" and "Hey!". There are no sounds, so it never interrupts your music or calls. ★ LEVEL UP AS YOU BROWSE Your pet earns XP from: - Pages you visit - New tabs you open - Active minutes you spend browsing - Playing, petting and feeding Every level gives you 3 treats. You also get a treat for every 15 pages you visit. Higher levels unlock new skins and accessories, and your pet gets a little faster and tougher. ★ SKINS AND ACCESSORIES - 4 to 5 skins per animal, including tabby, midnight and Siamese cats; beagle and husky dogs; cardinal and canary birds; macaw and grey parrots; corn snake and python; Nile and albino crocodiles. - Accessories to unlock: a bow, a party hat and a crown. - Your chosen look shows up on every website. Want a different animal? You can switch any time from settings. You will be asked to confirm first, because switching starts your new pet at level 1. ★ BUILT TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY - Your pet appears 2 seconds after a page loads, so the page loads first. - Turn it off on any single site, or everywhere, from the toolbar button. - It does not appear on: – pages that aren't secure (HTTPS only) – banking, payment, crypto and sign-in sites on the built-in safety list – checkout, cart, payment and login pages – any page showing a password, card number or one-time code field, even if the field appears after the page loads - Page auto-scroll stops the moment you scroll yourself, and you can switch it off in settings. It also respects your system's reduced-motion setting. - It only runs in the main page, not inside embedded frames. ★ PRIVATE BY DESIGN - No account and no sign-up. - No tracking, no analytics and no ads. - No network requests. Your pet's progress is saved only on your own device. - It never reads or stores the content of the pages you visit. It only counts page visits to give your pet XP. ★ HOW TO START 1. Install Browsing Pet. 2. Open any HTTPS website. 3. Pick your pet in the welcome window. 4. Drag it, throw it, feed it, and have fun. Settings, skins and your pet's stats are one click away in the toolbar button. Browsing Pet is free. If your pet makes your day a little brighter, please leave a rating. It helps other people find it.
