Browsing Log
Overview
Privacy-focused browsing activity tracker. Tracks visit time, frequency, and patterns with local data storage.
Log your browsing visits and time locally, then instantly see when and where you spend time. Features - Accurate tracking: counts only visible, focused tabs; live popup shows current page plus today/all-time stats - Clear visuals: daily, domain, and hourly charts to spot patterns, peaks, and habits at a glance - Local only: your history never leaves your device; no external storage or analytics - Rich history tools: keyword search, date filters, sorting, bulk delete, CSV export—clean up or take your data with you - Privacy-friendly permissions: uses only `tabs` to read the active tab for display; nothing else is accessed or sent How it measures (technical overview) - URL normalization: force https://, lowercase host, drop www./m., decode+lowercase path (trim trailing / except root), decode query (different queries = different entries), ignore hash - Tracked scope: only the tab that’s visible and whose window is focused; switching windows pauses counting until you return - SPA handling: path/query changes end the old URL and start a new one; hash-only changes do not create new visits - Aggregation/display: popup and options aggregate by normalized URL; charts bucket by day/domain/hour; deleting a row removes all records for that URL - Storage/permissions: data stays in IndexedDB locally; no external transmission; uses only `tabs` to read the active tab for display
