Overview

Use the internet on purpose. Block distractions without blocking the internet you need.

BrowseWell is an attention management system. Unlike blunt site blockers, it lets you keep the useful parts of the sites you need and removes the parts that pull you into passive consumption. Block distractions - Guard a whole site (facebook.com), an exact page (x.com/home), or a path section (reddit.com/r/all/*). - Guard the current page or its parent section with one click. Gate habitual-but-needed sites (Intentional Sites) - For sites you genuinely need but open reflexively — email is the classic case — mark them as Intentional instead of blocked. - Opening one shows a gate: pick why you're here, then a time window (2 / 5 / 15 min). - A thin bar drains to show time left. When time is up, the page dims and offers Done — close tab or a small extension. - Each site has a daily check budget. Over-budget visits wait behind a short countdown before arming. - Weekly self-monitoring stats per site: checks, percent turned away at the gate, and median gap between checks. Run focus sessions - Start a 15 / 30 / 60 / 120-minute session, or keep focus on until you stop it. - Remaining time shows in the popup and the extension badge. Hide attention traps (Distraction Filters) - Hide feeds, navigation, notifications, sidebars, or any element across a whole site or just one page. - Focus on element keeps one selected element visible and hides the surrounding noise. - A picker toolbar with Wider / Narrower / Unlock / Save, plus keyboard shortcuts. Designed to be hard to defeat on purpose - Newly added guards have a 30-second grace period with one-click Undo. - Pausing protection is never one-click: short pauses need a brief wait; longer or permanent changes require a typed reflection. Hard Mode scales friction with blast radius. - Client-side route protection keeps guarded pages covered even when a site changes routes without a full page load. Free trial, then paid - 30 days of full access, then $5/month or $39/year (annual recommended). A launch-only founder lifetime option is also available. When the trial ends, your existing blocks keep working — only managing Intentional Sites, Hard Mode, and Distraction Filters requires a license. Privacy - Local-first. All rules and browsing data stay in Chrome's storage on your device. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. The only thing ever sent off-device is a license key, only when you choose to purchase.
