Overview

Let your AI agent use the Chrome you already use: exact clicks, your approval before anything risky, passwords stay yours.

BrowserZap lets the AI agent on your computer work in the Chrome you already use: your tabs, your logins, your session. No cloud browser, no copied cookies, no signing in again. It works with Claude Code, the Codex CLI, Cursor and any other app that speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Ask your agent to do something on a website, and you watch it happen in your own tab: a small cursor shows where it is acting, and a bar at the top of the page says the agent is working. Press Stop at any time and the tab is yours again. EXACT, NOT APPROXIMATE • Every click and every field is matched to exactly one element by its role and name. When a page has several look-alike buttons, BrowserZap names each one by its row, card or form, and refuses an ambiguous target instead of guessing. • After each step it checks what actually changed, and says so plainly: the page navigated, the dialog opened, or nothing happened. • When something goes wrong it says why: the site is slow, the page is still loading, the element is not there, or the site showed its own error page. YOU STAY IN CONTROL • Submitting a form, sending, deleting, posting and paying wait for your one-time approval in the side panel. • BrowserZap never types into password, one-time-code or card fields. When the agent reaches one, the page brings the field to the front and says "Your turn". You type, press Done, and the agent carries on. What you type is never seen or logged. • CAPTCHAs and sign-in checks are handed to you, never bypassed. • The Stop button on the page and the switch in the side panel cannot be pressed by the agent. RECORD ONCE, REPLAY MANY TIMES • Save a task as a workflow and run it again with new values, from your agent, the side panel or a terminal. • Replays wait for slow sites, notice a site's error page, and stop at the first step that cannot be verified instead of carrying on blindly. • Free: up to 10 saved workflows. Pro (coming soon): one workflow over many rows, unattended, with a report of anything that needs your attention. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • The extension talks only to the BrowserZap companion program on your own computer (127.0.0.1), over an authenticated connection. It makes no other network requests. • No account, no telemetry, no analytics. Form values, passwords and cookies are never logged. • What the agent reads on a page goes to the AI app you connected, under that app's terms. SETUP (about two minutes) BrowserZap needs its free companion program, installed with Node.js 22 or newer: npm install -g browserzap browserzap setup Setup registers the companion with Chrome for your Windows user (no administrator rights) and, if you agree, adds BrowserZap to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. Open the BrowserZap side panel: it turns green when it is connected. Step-by-step guide: https://browserzap.com/docs WHY CHROME SHOWS "BrowserZap started debugging this browser" BrowserZap uses Chrome's debugger interface to click and type in your tab the way a person would. Chrome shows that bar the whole time control is active, so you always know when an agent can act. Access to all sites is needed because you choose where the agent works; it acts only in tabs an agent session uses, and only while you let it. REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITS • Windows 10 or 11 and Google Chrome. macOS and Linux are not supported yet. • chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store cannot be automated. • Canvas apps, some custom widgets and cross-origin frames may need you to do the step yourself.
