BrowserGate Shield
Overview
Blocks a specific extension-probing technique and shows a visible toast when a probe is intercepted.
BrowserGate Shield helps protect your privacy by blocking a known browser fingerprinting technique that checks for installed extensions using chrome-extension:// requests and related page scanning methods. Visible proof via a small toast in the lower-right corner of the browser page will be displayed when blocking happens. When a page attempts to probe for installed extensions or send related telemetry, BrowserGate Shield will display a small on-page notification so you can see that the request was intercepted. Features * Blocks page attempts to probe installed extensions through chrome-extension:// requests * Intercepts related telemetry requests used to report scan results * Adds a small visual notification when a blocked probe is detected * Runs automatically in supported Chromium-based browsers * Lightweight, focused, and easy to inspect Why use it Some websites (https://browsergate.eu/) use browser fingerprinting techniques to learn which extensions you have installed. That information can be used to identify or track you. BrowserGate Shield is designed to reduce that exposure by targeting the behaviors described in the public BrowserGate research.
