Browser Support Kit
Overview
Everyday fixes and checks one click away: grab and mask the page, record a HAR file and find out why copy and paste won't work.
Browser Support Kit puts the small fixes and checks you reach for every day one click from the toolbar. Grab the page, cover private details before you share your screen, and find out why copy and paste or a site isn't working, without hunting through Chrome's menus or installing five separate extensions. Click the toolbar icon and every tool is an icon, grouped by what it does. Point at one to see its name. CAPTURE - Full page grab: scrolls the page top to bottom and stitches one tall image. Sticky headers appear once, not on every slice. Press Esc to stop. - Screen grab: just what's visible in the tab. - Selection area grab: drag a box and capture only that. - Full screen grab: a whole screen, a window or another tab, through Chrome's own picker. - Color grabber: pick any color on screen and its hex code is copied. Grabs are copied to your clipboard and saved as a file by default. Choose one or the other in Settings, and whether to include scrollbars. THIS PAGE - Zoom area: zoom the whole page, or pick one part of it, such as a reading pane, and keep just that part zoomed every time you visit the site. - Mask PII: covers personal details such as email addresses, phone numbers and card numbers, in the page text and in form fields, as solid bars or dots. Identifier fields such as customer or order numbers stay visible. Ideal before sharing your screen or taking a screenshot. - Hide page elements: click any part of a page to hide it: a cookie bar, a sidebar, a banner. It stays hidden every time you come back, and you can bring anything back from the toolbar panel or the settings page. SUPPORT - HAR file for support: records the tab's network traffic while you reproduce a problem, then saves a standard HAR file with a summary of what it holds and a reminder that HAR files can contain personal data. A banner stays on the page while it records. - Clipboard check: shows what's on your clipboard and what the page does to copy and paste, such as whether the site may use the clipboard or a script cancels pasting. Run the full test to try nine ways of copying and pasting at once, with a plain verdict and a report you can copy or save for a support ticket. Your clipboard is put back afterwards. A test card on the page tries the site's own copy and paste and shows exactly what arrives when you press Ctrl+V. When a page blocks copying, one click unblocks it until the page reloads. Step-by-step instructions for your operating system show how to restart a stuck clipboard, including the macOS privacy setting that can stop Chrome from pasting. - Console errors: the shortcut that opens Chrome's Console, and a recorder that reloads the page and lists its errors and warnings, showing which site or extension each one comes from, ready to copy into a support ticket. - Clear cookies and cache: clear this site's cookies, cached files and stored data and reload it, or clear cookies and cache from every site for the last hour, the last day or all time. Before anything is cleared, it tells you what will be affected and asks you to confirm. BROWSER - Pop-up blocker: see whether Chrome blocks pop-ups on the site you're on and on the support tools Stitch Fix relies on, which need them for sign-in and chat windows, and allow them in one click. Exceptions it adds can be undone. - Computer and browser info: your computer's name (typed in once; it shows you where to find it), Chrome's exact version and the details of your computer and its connection, ready to copy into a support ticket, with where to check for Chrome and system updates. - Open incognito: a new incognito window in one click. - Extensions: every other extension with an on/off switch and a reload button, grouped into On and Off. Turn them all off with one switch to rule them out, and turn the same ones back on with the next. - Open windows: every Chrome window you have open, with its tab count. Go to one or close it. ADVANCED (EXPERIMENTAL) - AI troubleshooting (off unless you turn it on): talk a problem through with local AI, Chrome's own on-device model running on your computer. Nothing goes beyond your workstation. It's smaller and more limited than online AI assistants. But it's given the results of what you've already tried with the tools in this browser session, so it picks up where you are: a good next step before you contact your support team. Start from a common problem such as copy and paste or describe your own. When it sends you to a tool, a bar at the top of the panel brings you back to the conversation with the results. Widen the panel for more room while you talk. Turning it on asks Chrome to download its model (about 4 GB) once. Settings shows how long that should take on your connection and how to remove Chrome's model if you turn it off again. Start with the tools: AI is an extra, experimental step for problems they don't explain. SETTINGS The gear opens a settings page with a search box (press / to jump to it). Switch off the tools you don't use and drag the rest into the order you like. Choose what screen grabs do, set your PII mask defaults and review every container zoom and hidden element. Pick a theme in the Stitch Fix colors (Pride first) or a seasonal or holiday theme. Customize any theme's colors and keep your version alongside the original. New installs open on Light, and Denim is this extension's own theme. The sun/moon button switches between Light and Dark. In June it asks once whether you would like to switch to Pride. Add an optional seasonal animation behind the toolbar panel; it's off by default and never on web pages, and stays off when your computer is set to reduce motion. Back everything up to a file and restore it, or reset any part or everything. About shows the version, what the extension can access and a 30-day performance history kept on this computer. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything runs on your computer. Your settings and hidden elements are stored in Chrome's local storage. Screen grabs, HAR files and reports go only to your clipboard or your Downloads folder. The clipboard is read only while Clipboard check is open. Nothing is collected, nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no account. Browser Support Kit is built by Stitch Fix.
