browser-cache-hit-ratio
Overview
A Chrome browser extension that shows the browser disk cache hit ratio for objects on a page.
When you navigate to a page, a little percentage icon is highlighted in the toolbar to the right of the omnibox. As the browser loads all the objects on that page from the network, browser-cache-hit-ratio records whether they were a browser cache hit or miss. It shows a cache hit ratio as a percentage. Chrome employs multiple layers of caches: * an on-disk cache * a very fast in-memory cache tied to a tab * a ServiceWorker cache The in-memory cache is invisible to extensions, so open a new tab to get an accurate cache hit ratio. For example: * A network request which results in a 200 response: Miss * A revalidating network request which results in a 304 response: Hit * A response served from the disk cache: Hit * A response served from the memory cache: Not counted * A response served from the ServiceWorker cache: Hit If the cache hit ratio is confusing, dig into the Chrome DevTools network tab to find out more.
