Lets AI coding agents like Claude Code and Codex work in your own Chrome, in their own window. Needs the browser-attach CLI.

browser-attach connects AI coding agents that run on your computer (Claude Code, Codex and similar command-line agents) to your own Chrome, so they can read and use web pages for you — including sites where you are already signed in. How it works • Install the companion command-line tool `browser-attach` on the same computer (Node.js 20+). It talks to this extension over a WebSocket on 127.0.0.1 only; the extension never connects to any other address. • Each agent session works in its own Chrome window, opened in the background. Your own windows and tabs are never touched, and one session cannot see another session's tabs. • When a session ends, its window is closed. What an agent can do • Open pages and read them as compact text with numbered element references. • Click, type, select options, press keys, hover, scroll and upload files. • Take screenshots of the page, an element or the whole page. • Run a JavaScript snippet that the agent sends from your computer, to read values a page does not show (optional: on pages with a strict Content Security Policy this uses the User Scripts API, which you turn on yourself under Details → Allow User Scripts). • Read the page's recent fetch/XHR requests, so the agent can wait for a page to finish loading data. Privacy • No data is sent to the developer or to any server. Page content goes only to the browser-attach program on your own computer, and from there to the agent you run. • Password, one-time-code and card-number fields are redacted from page text. • No analytics, no tracking, no accounts.
