BrowseLatch: Website Rules
Overview
Choose which websites can open or be blocked with parent-protected settings.
BrowseLatch helps parents choose which websites can open in your browser. Choose one active mode: Allowlist opens only listed domains and blocks other websites; Blocklist blocks listed domains and permits other websites. Each mode remembers its own list. A listed domain includes its subdomains. In Allowlist mode, a parent can block a child subdomain as an exception—for example, allow example.com while keeping kids.example.com blocked. The protected settings let a parent add, search, remove, and undo website rules and check whether a website can open. A blocked page shows the denied hostname and offers a shortcut to settings. The Supporting content setting can permit scripts, media, images, and API calls from unlisted domains on an allowed page for compatibility, or block those requests for stricter control. Unlisted embedded frames remain blocked unless their provider domain is added to the Allowlist; adding it also allows direct visits. A parent password protects the settings. Access relocks after five minutes, and repeated incorrect attempts trigger delays. Lists, preferences, and a salted password verifier stay in local browser storage. The extension has no analytics, remote code, or browsing-history log. It cannot prevent a child from disabling or removing it; use a child operating-system account and administrator-enforced browser policies when stronger protection is needed.
