Overview
Browser extension for the browse CLI - scrape any webpage to markdown
Browse connects your browser to a CLI tool, letting you scrape any webpage to clean markdown — including sites that require login. WHY BROWSE? ✓ Uses your actual browser session — no separate login needed ✓ Bypasses bot detection — you're using your real browser ✓ Converts messy HTML to clean, readable markdown ✓ Works with any site you can view in Chrome ✓ 100% local — no data sent to external servers PERFECT FOR: • Scraping content behind paywalls (that you have access to) • Extracting articles, documentation, social media posts • AI/LLM workflows — feed web content to Claude, GPT, etc. • Research and data collection HOW IT WORKS: 1. Install the CLI: npm install -g browse-cli 2. Start the daemon: browse init 3. Scrape any page: browse https://example.com The extension connects to a local daemon on your machine that relays CLI commands to your active browser tab. All processing happens locally. OPEN SOURCE: Browse is fully open source. Audit the code, report issues, or contribute: https://github.com/PepijnSenders/browse-cli PRIVACY: No data collection. No analytics. No external servers. Everything stays on your machine.
