Browcy
Overview
Connects your browser to AI agents via MCP
Browcy is an open-source, local-first developer tool that turns your regular Chrome browser into an intelligent agent environment. It acts as a seamless bridge between your browser and local AI agents (like Claude Desktop or custom MCP clients) using the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). Instead of running a hidden, headless browser in the background, Browcy allows your AI agent to "see" and interact with the exact same tabs you are looking at on your screen. --- KEY FEATURES --- 100% LOCAL & PRIVATE Connects locally via WebSockets to your MCP server. No cloud dependencies, no third-party tracking, and your browsing data never leaves your machine. NATIVE VISION Uses the Chrome DevTools Protocol to capture high-quality screenshots and extract precise ARIA accessibility trees. ACCURATE INTERACTION Allows agents to natively click, type, scroll, and navigate without relying on brittle JavaScript injections. --- HOW IT WORKS --- 1. Install the Browcy extension. 2. Install the browcy-mcp server via npm on your machine. 3. Add the server to your AI agent's MCP configuration. 4. Open the extension popup to check the active connection status—and you are ready to go! --- OPEN SOURCE --- Built by developers, for developers. This is a fully open-source project. You can view the code, contribute, or run your own modifications by visiting our GitHub repository.
