Overview
Click a live chat message in Chrome and show it on your OBS or vMix overlay.
Broadcast Chat Overlay is a Chrome companion for live productions that use any bradcast app that can handle html as input like vMix or Obs. Click any chat message to put it on air. Click again to hide it. Messages you already used are grayed out, so operators can see what went out. This extension works together with the Broadcast Chat Overlay desktop app (Mac or Windows). The app runs a local overlay server; the extension only sends the message you select. How to use 1. Install and start the Broadcast Chat Overlay desktop app on the machine that drives OBS or vMix. 2. Install this Chrome extension. 3. Open the extension popup, paste the server address shown in the app, click Save & connect, and allow access when Chrome asks. 4. Open a supported live chat page in Chrome and click messages to show or hide them on the overlay. Notes • Look and feel (colors, fonts, layout, animations) are controlled only in the desktop app — not in this extension. • The extension connects only to the overlay server URL you enter (usually your local network; an optional tunnel can be used for remote operators). • Chat content is not uploaded to SD Media servers. • Made by SD Media — www.sd.media.pl
