Brightspace Transcript Saver helps you export text from the built-in transcript or captions panel in D2L Brightspace course videos. How to use 1. In Brightspace, open a video and open its Transcript (or Captions) panel so the text is visible. 2. Click the extension icon, then “Pull transcript.” 3. Copy to the clipboard or download a .txt file. Notes • Works on the page you have open when you use the extension; it does not run in the background on all websites. • If nothing is found, make sure the transcript panel is open and expanded before pulling. • Designed for Brightspace / D2L; other sites may work if they use a similar transcript UI. Privacy The extension reads the visible transcript text only when you click Pull. It does not collect or transmit your data to a server. SINGLE PURPOSE -------------- Export transcript text from Brightspace/D2L video pages for study and accessibility. PERMISSION JUSTIFICATIONS (for the “Privacy practices” / permission form) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- • activeTab — Access the current tab only when you open the extension and pull a transcript, so the extension can read the open transcript panel. • scripting — Run a small script in that tab to find and extract transcript text from the page. • tabs — Identify the active tab to run the script on the correct page. • downloads — Save the transcript as a .txt file when you choose Download.
