Brief turns each day of browsing into one short, readable summary — so you can see where your time actually went, without keeping a spreadsheet. Brief quietly notes which sites you're actively focused on and for how long, entirely in the background. At the end of the day it sends that activity to Brief's hosted backend, which writes you a single brief. No API key, no sign-in. What you get • Day at a glance — a couple of sentences on how the day actually went. • Activity timeline — the shape of your day, hour by hour. • Where your time went — your top sites and focus areas, in plain language instead of raw numbers. How it works • Brief tracks the active tab's URL, title, and focus time in the background. There is no content script — it never reads the contents of the pages you visit. • Momentary glances (under ~2 seconds) are dropped; only real focus is counted. • Once a day your activity is uploaded to Brief's hosted backend, which generates the brief and streams it back. • Missed a day of tracking? Brief can reconstruct it from your Chrome history (estimated from visit times) so the day isn't blank. Built to stay out of your way • Free, with a daily cap. No account, no sign-in, no payment. • No ads, no third-party trackers, no analytics vendors.
