Branch — Auto-Sorting Tree Tabs

A tree of your tabs with automatic sorting and optional native tab-order sync.

Give your browser tabs a little order with Branch, a compact sidebar that automatically organizes the tabs in your current window. Choose how to sort: • Recently opened — see newly created tabs first in a flat list. • Recently touched — see the tabs you selected most recently first. • Same domain — browse alphabetical website folders, with collapsible trees for tabs opened from another tab on the same site. Keep control of your native tab order. Leave Sync tabs OFF to organize only the sidebar, or turn it ON to apply the sidebar’s order to Chrome’s native tabs. Pinned tabs stay first. To preserve existing native Chrome tab groups, sync pauses in windows that contain grouped tabs. Find and manage tabs quickly: • Search tab titles and addresses from the bottom search field. • Select, close, or create tabs from the sidebar. • Recognize sites by their favicons. • Collapse and expand domain folders and branches. • Switch sort modes using the dropdown beside New tab. • Use light or dark appearance based on your system preference. Branch processes tab information locally in your browser. It has no account requirement, analytics, advertising, or developer-operated server. Preferences persist on your device; tab timing metadata is held for the browser session. Notes: Chrome controls the side panel’s left/right placement and its native tab layout. Branch cannot hide the native tab strip. Chrome does not expose creation times for tabs already open at installation or browser restart; these tabs use a stable fallback order until new tabs are created. “Recently touched” refers to tab selection, not clicks or scrolling inside a page. Requires Chrome 121 or later. Click the Branch toolbar icon to open the sidebar.
