SpeechPoint
Overview
Use Chrome with your voice: open sites, click, type, dictate, scroll and read pages, hands-free.
SpeechPoint is a Chrome extension that lets people who can't use a mouse or keyboard, as a result of paralysis, ALS, or arthritis, use the web entirely with their voice. Instead of requiring users to memorize special commands, users can speak naturally: "Go to YouTube and search for piano music and play the most viewed video." or "Email Sam saying I'll be late; make sure to add my name at the bottom". SpeechPoint understands these natural requests, splits them into a queue that runs automatically through clicks, scrolls, types, and reads on any website. It can also conduct dynamic programs, like asking for confirmation before risky actions like Send, Buy, or Delete. Furthermore, it offers dictation with spoken punctuation and spelling mode, number labels for unnamed buttons, and custom voice shortcuts that users can optionally use. Lastly, it works with the user's own Chrome browser and their own existing accounts; hence, it needs no special hardware and data is always kept private.
