It checks websites and Amazon products against live ethical campaign databases, finds you better brands to buy from instead, blocks ads, and includes a built-in privacy VPN. It runs in the background and only speaks up when it finds something worth knowing. No spreadsheets. No manual research. Just browse. --- ETHICAL SHOPPING SCANNER Every website and Amazon product you visit gets checked against the ethical campaigns you follow. The result shows up instantly in your toolbar icon. No extra tabs, no searching, no effort on your part. What the icon tells you: - Green: the brand or site is aligned with your selected campaigns - Red: it's been flagged, with a clear reason shown in the popup - Grey: scanning, or no data available for this page Checks are split between the website itself (the company behind the domain) and the product (the brand you're buying). On Amazon, you can see both at once. On a regular site, you get the site-level result. You always know exactly what was checked and what was found. --- FOLLOW THE CAMPAIGNS YOU CARE ABOUT Boycat lets you choose which ethical campaigns to follow and only flags brands that violate the ones you've selected. Campaigns are maintained by the Boycat team and updated as things change. When a company's situation changes, the results update automatically. You don't need to check anything manually. Follow as many campaigns as you want. If a brand violates any one of them, Boycat flags it and tells you exactly which campaign caught it. You can switch campaigns from inside the popup and the current page rescans immediately. Ethical shopping means different things to different people. Some care about labour rights, others about environmental harm, animal welfare, or political spending. Boycat lets you set your own boundaries. --- AMAZON PRODUCT SCREENING Browse Amazon normally. Boycat checks every product page against your active campaigns in the background. If the brand is flagged, you'll see which campaign it violates, why it was flagged, and alternative products from brands that do pass your standards. You can click through to any alternative without leaving the page. If the product passes, you'll see that too. Green icon, short confirmation. Keep shopping. Boycat does not change any Amazon prices, listings, or page content. The overlay sits outside Amazon's own UI and can be dismissed with one click. --- BETTER BRAND ALTERNATIVES When something is flagged, Boycat finds you alternatives from brands that meet your ethical standards so you can still buy what you need. Alternatives load automatically after a flag and appear in the extension popup. One click opens the product on Amazon. No extra searching required. --- BUILT-IN AD BLOCKER Boycat includes an ad blocker you can turn on or off from the Protection tab. When enabled it filters ads, banners, and tracking scripts across every site you visit. Pages load faster, there are fewer distractions, and you can see a live count of how many ads have been blocked this session. Off by default. One tap to enable. Works completely separately from the compliance scanner. --- BuycatVPN Boycat includes BuycatVPN, a built-in privacy VPN for subscribed users on Chrome, Edge, and Brave. BuycatVPN routes your browser traffic through an encrypted tunnel. Your ISP, your network operator, and anyone else on the same connection cannot see what you're browsing. Only browser traffic goes through the VPN. Other apps on your device are not affected. If you find a brand that's been incorrectly flagged or a listing that's out of date, you can report it directly from the popup. The Report an Error button appears on flagged screens. Reports go to the Boycat team for review and are linked to your account to prevent duplicates. --- PRIVACY Compliance checks send an anonymous request containing only the domain name or brand identifier. Nothing is tied to your account. Boycat does not log which pages you visit, how long you spend on them, or what you purchase. For the VPN, Boycat records the country you connect to and the length of your session. That is the minimum needed to run the service. Websites you visit through the VPN are not logged. If you sign in, Boycat stores your email and subscription tier to enable subscribed features. Credentials are never stored in plaintext. Optional usage analytics (feature-level only, no browsing data) are off by default. You can change this at any time from the consent screen. Boycat does not sell user data to anyone. Create a Boycat account or sign in to unlock the VPN and other subscribed features. --- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Does Boycat slow down my browser? No. Scans run asynchronously and do not block page loading. Most complete in under a second. Does it work on every website? It runs on every website. Whether a compliance result comes back depends on whether the brand or domain is in the Boycat database. For unknown sites it shows a neutral result and stays quiet. Does it work on Amazon? Yes. Boycat is built specifically for Amazon product pages. It reads the brand from the listing and checks it against your active campaigns. Is the ad blocker like uBlock Origin? Boycat's ad blocker uses the browser's built-in filtering system for efficiency and low memory use. It is designed to be lightweight and always-on. It is not a replacement for a full-featured standalone ad blocker but covers the most common ad and tracker networks. Can I use BuycatVPN and the ad blocker together? Yes. They are independent and do not interfere with each other. Does BuycatVPN cover all my internet traffic? BuycatVPN covers browser traffic only. Other apps on your device are not routed through it.
