Turn an audio or video file into an accurate, editable transcript without leaving your browser. Video to Transcript is the official Chrome extension for VideoText. Select a recording, transcribe it, review the result, then copy or download the transcript as text. HOW IT WORKS Click the VideoText icon in your toolbar. Sign in to your VideoText account. Select an audio or video file. Choose the spoken language or use automatic detection. Click Transcribe. Review, copy, or download your transcript. WHAT YOU GET Your completed transcript appears directly in the extension. You can copy the text to your clipboard or download it as a text file. The extension supports common audio and video files, so you can upload your recording directly without manually extracting the audio first. File size and recording-length limits depend on your VideoText plan. The extension checks your account limits before processing. If you close the popup while transcription is processing, the job continues. Open the extension again to continue from the current job. WHEN TO USE IT Video to Transcript is useful whenever you need recorded speech as readable text — an interview you want to quote from, or a long recording you would rather read than sit through. VIDEOTEXT ACCOUNT The extension uses your existing VideoText account, plan, and usage allowance. Subscription management is handled through VideoText. The extension does not process payment card information. PRIVACY Files you choose to process are sent to VideoText to provide the transcription service. The extension only requests the permissions needed to connect with VideoText and maintain your extension session. The extension does not read your browsing history, record your screen, capture tab audio, or access unrelated websites.
