A local-first workspace for managing browser tabs and URLs.

Boon puts the tabs you have open and the pages you have saved in one side panel, as a single list you can drag between. Your open tabs are at the bottom, your saved pages above them, with a thin line between the two. Drag a tab up across that line and it is saved. Drag a saved page down and the bookmark is gone, leaving the tab. That one gesture is most of Boon. WHAT IT DOES • One list, two halves. Saved pages and open tabs share a single scrolling area, so you can drag from one into the other in a single movement. Nothing appears twice: when a saved row has a live tab, that tab drops out of the list below. • Saved pages are ordinary bookmarks. Boon works inside one bookmarks folder — "Boon" in Other bookmarks by default, or any folder you name. Nothing is locked inside the extension. Chrome's own bookmark manager, and your bookmarks bar, see exactly the same thing. • A favourites strip. Icons for the bookmarks in a single folder, always at the top. A tile tells you its state: plain if the page is saved but not open, outlined if a tab is open behind it, filled if it is the tab you are looking at now. • Folders with three states. Shut, fully open, or partially open — which shows a folder's contents without unfolding everything nested inside it. • Four ways to save. Drag a tab up, drag it onto the favourites strip, right-click the tab row, or press Cmd+Shift+S (Ctrl+Shift+S) for the tab you are on. • An archive of what you closed. The address and title of every tab you close and every page you delete, grouped by day, so you can answer "what was that page I just closed?". Click an entry to open it again. It records tabs closed anywhere in Chrome, not only from Boon — it is on by default, and one switch in Settings turns it off. Keep for 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, or indefinitely. • Search both lists at once, and copy every open tab's link in one press. • Reordering that is real. Drag within the open tab list and your actual Chrome tabs move. Drag within the saved list and the bookmark moves or changes folder. • A right-click menu on every row. Everything a drag can do, plus move a tab to a new window, duplicate it, mute it, rename it, or move it to a folder chosen from a tree. Every gesture is reachable without a mouse. • Keyboard throughout. Arrow keys to move, Enter to open, F2 to rename, Space to pick a row up and place it, Home and End to jump. • Colour and size. Pick one master colour and Boon derives the accent, the panel background, the fields and the text from it, guaranteed to stay readable — or set any of the four by hand. Light and dark are themed separately, and Boon follows your system. Text from 12 to 20 pixels, with icons, row heights and spacing all scaling with it. • Backup to a file. One button writes your settings and your saved pages to a JSON file; another reads one back and asks which of the two halves you want. PRIVACY Everything Boon stores stays in this Chrome profile on this machine. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server: Boon makes no network requests at all. Nothing is synced — not to your Google account, not anywhere. A second Chrome profile has an entirely separate Boon. The archive records the addresses and titles of pages you closed, which is browsing history, so it is declared as such. It is written to local extension storage, it is never transmitted, you can read and clear it from the panel, one switch stops it recording, and uninstalling Boon takes it with it. The only way anything leaves your machine is the Backup button, when you press it, to a file you choose. REQUIREMENTS Chrome 114 or newer. Detecting which side the panel is docked on needs Chrome 140; everything else works without it.
