Booksy replaces it with a minimal, customizable dashboard that puts your bookmarks front and center. Everything you need — your favorite sites, a clock, search, and inspiration — in one beautiful page. Bookmarks Two ways to organize: - Browser bookmarks — use your real Chrome bookmarks. Any changes you make in Booksy (add, edit, delete, move) sync directly with Chrome's bookmark manager. - Separate Booksy — a private collection stored inside the extension. Perfect if you want a fresh set of bookmarks just for your new tab. Comes with starter folders so you can jump right in. Add, rename, and delete folders. Create expandable subfolders for deeper organization. Drag and drop bookmarks to reorder them within a folder, move them between folders, or drop them into subfolders. Filter all your bookmarks by typing to search titles and URLs. Shortcuts A dedicated row of quick-access cards above your folders. Add any bookmark as a shortcut, or create custom shortcuts from scratch. Drag to reorder, or drag a bookmark from any folder directly onto the shortcuts row to promote it. Click to open, middle-click or Ctrl+click to open in a new tab. Right-click for a context menu with Open, Edit, Remove from shortcuts, and Delete. Compact mode fits up to 14 shortcuts instead of 7. Clock & Greeting A large, elegant clock with your choice of 12-hour or 24-hour format, plus the current date. A time-based greeting welcomes you — Good morning, Good afternoon, or Good evening. Your name is pulled automatically from your Chrome profile, or you can set it manually. Inspirational Quotes A random quote displayed below the clock, refreshed on every new tab. Hover to reveal a shuffle button and cycle through 20 curated quotes. Toggle quotes on or off in settings. Web Search A search bar that works like Chrome's omnibox — type a URL to navigate directly, or type anything else to search Google. Press Enter to go. Wallpapers A curated collection of 20 high-quality images that serve as your background. Upload your own images (up to 10) — they are automatically compressed and stored for reliable loading. Drag to reorder your custom wallpapers. Enable auto-rotation to cycle through wallpapers at your chosen interval: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, or 6 hours. Smooth fade transitions between each wallpaper. Optional background blur with adjustable strength (5px to 30px). Subtle dark overlay for better text readability. Settings Open the settings panel from the gear icon to customize everything: - Toggle visibility of Clock, Quote, Greeting, Groups (bookmark folders), and Shortcuts - Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time - Enable compact shortcuts mode - Toggle background blur and overlay - Configure auto-rotation interval - Upload and manage custom wallpapers - Limit folder height to 500px with smooth scrolling - Choose whether links open in the same tab or a new tab - Switch between browser bookmarks and separate Booksy collection Interaction Left-click a link to open it. Middle-click or Ctrl+click to open in a new tab. Right-click any bookmark or shortcut for quick actions. Drag bookmarks to reorder or move them between folders. All modals support Enter to save and Escape to cancel. Privacy Booksy runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server. Bookmarks and settings are stored locally using Chrome's storage API and IndexedDB. No accounts, no tracking, no sign-up required.
