Bookmarks Search - Find Any Bookmark In Seconds You have hundreds of bookmarks. Maybe thousands. They sit in folders you built years ago, with names that made sense at the time, nested three levels deep inside a menu you stopped opening months ago. The page you need is in there somewhere. Bookmarks Search is the fastest way to get it back. Press Alt+Shift+H (Command+E on Mac), start typing, press Enter. That is the entire product. INSTANT FUZZY SEARCH Bookmarks Search matches as you type, across both the title and the full web address of every bookmark you have saved. It uses fuzzy matching, so you do not have to remember the exact wording. Type "recip choc" and you will find "The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe You Will Ever Bake". Type a half-remembered domain and the page surfaces even when its title tells you nothing useful. Typos, partial words and words entered in the wrong order all still find their target. Results are ranked by how well they match, with the closest one selected and ready the moment it appears. There is no index to wait for, no account to create, no sign-in, no setup screen. Install it and it works. TWO WAYS TO SEARCH The popup is the main way in. Click the toolbar icon or press the keyboard shortcut, and a clean search window opens with your cursor already in the box. The address bar is the second way, and it is the one power users keep. Type an asterisk, press the space bar, and your address bar becomes a bookmark search field without you ever leaving the keyboard or touching the mouse. Suggestions appear beneath it as you type, showing the title and address of each match. Press Enter to open the one you want. If nothing matches, Enter simply searches the web instead, so the keystroke is never wasted. BUILT FOR THE KEYBOARD Everything works without the mouse. The search box is focused the instant the popup opens. Arrow Down and Arrow Up move through the results, scrolling smoothly as you go. Enter opens the highlighted bookmark in a new tab. Your hands never leave the home row, and the whole interaction, from shortcut to open page, takes about two seconds. SEE WHAT YOU ARE CHOOSING Every result shows the site's real favicon next to its title and full address. Scanning a list of icons is far faster than reading a list of words, and the address underneath removes the ambiguity when you have saved four pages with nearly identical titles. LIGHT AND DARK THEMES Bookmarks Search follows your system's colour scheme automatically, so it arrives already matching the rest of your desktop. A single button in the header switches between light and dark whenever you like, and your choice is remembered for next time. WORKS OFFLINE Your bookmarks live on your own machine, so searching them does not require a connection. Bookmarks Search works on a plane, on a train, and on hotel wifi that has technically connected but is not moving any data. A GENUINE PRIVACY PROMISE This is worth stating plainly, because most extensions are not able to. Bookmarks Search requests exactly two permissions: access to your bookmarks, so that it can search them, and access to favicons, so that it can show you site icons. That is the complete list. It does not ask to read or change the data on the websites you visit. It runs no code inside the pages you open. It has no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no external services of any kind. Your bookmarks are searched entirely on your own device, and they are never uploaded, transmitted, sold or shared with anyone, including us. Nothing you type into the search box goes anywhere.
