Protect a Chrome bookmark folder with a password. What's New ----------- 1.0.2 Restore the vault on another computer: press "Restore from Google Drive" (initial setup or Backup storage section) to download the configuration saved by another computer — protected folder, password and Drive backups — and unlock there. Nothing is written locally until the password has been verified. Improvements and fixes. Lock & Hide ----------- Press "Lock & Hide" to: 1. serialize the folder tree 2. encrypt it with your password 3. write the encrypted backup (your device or your Google Drive) 4. verify that the backup was really saved 5. only then delete the folder from your bookmarks Nothing is removed before the backup has been read back and verified. Unlock & Show ------------- Press "Unlock & Show" to download the latest backup, decrypt it and recreate the folder in its original position. If a folder with the same name is already there, the bookmarks are merged into it instead of replacing it. Your password is never stored ----------------------------- Only a small encrypted verifier is saved, and it cannot be used to recover the password. Locking, unlocking and changing the password all work offline. Encrypted backups ----------------- - AES-256-GCM, key derived with PBKDF2-SHA256 (600,000 iterations) - keep the last 3 backups, older ones are removed automatically - storage on your device, or in your own Google Drive folder (the extension only ever sees the files it created) - export a backup as a file, import it on another computer Also included ------------- - change the protected folder at any time - ask to lock the vault when the browser starts - warning before closing the tab while the vault is unlocked - works with large folders (hundreds of subfolders) Privacy ------- No account, no tracking, no analytics, no ads, no developer server. Your bookmarks are encrypted on your device and only stored in your own Google Drive (if you choose that option). Free to use, including for commercial purposes. Provided "as is", without warranty.
