Doesn't work worth a damn.

Does not work at all. I installed the extension, went to chrome://extensions/shortcuts, assigned "Bookmark 1" with a hotkey of Alt-1, closed the tab and went back to it to confirm the settings took effect and were saved. I confirmed that I have bookmarks IN my actual bookmark bar. I go to any of my tabs, press Alt-1 and nothing at all happens. I tried other key combinations. Same things. I even tried deleting the bookmarks from my bookmark bar and recreating them, then recreating the shortcut... Show more

Need an option to open the bookmarked page by loading it on the currently opened tab instead of opening a new one.

I followed the instructs and tips from dev. Linus, Miguel Garza and Rob Penfold. When it didn't work I removed the extension, turned my 3 other extensions off, started again and followed it to the letter. Still, no. I'm certain it's user error. First, I renamed my bookmark bar items - Calendar is Cal1 for bookmark 1, Translate2 for bookmark 2, etc., up to 10. I used ALT 1 for Bookmark 1 (it enters as ALT + 1, yes?), etc., chose "In Chrome" in the dropdown. I closed out Bookmark Shortcuts... Show more

Find this quite useful. I use Alt 1, Alt 2 etc for my first 10 bookmarks (set at chrome://extensions/shortcuts), and then edit the name of the bookmark to make it easily remembered. For example Google Calendar is my third bookmark so have edited it to Cal3, so I know Alt 3 will open it up. Similarly Evernote is my 6th bookmark so edited it to 6 (the green elephant icon is enough for me to know it is Evernote) so Alt 6 opens it and so on.

It does what I need but why does the extension need to read by browsing history?

It does what I need it to do: Alt-1 thru Alt-5 switch to the first 5 bookmarks on my bookmark bar in Chrome, AND!!!! it does not demand access to all data on all sites, just bookmarks. How cool is that?!? However, instead of switching to the bookmark in the current tab, it opens a tab for each one. Would be great if it simply toggled bookmarks within the same tab!

How can I make the shortcut to not open the bookmark in a new tab but in the same tab. That's the only thing that's missing here.

Works! Here's an explanation of how to set up, for anyone who's confused by the official description: You get up to 10 bookmarks that you can load by keyboard shortcut. The bookmarks *must* be in your bookmarks bar. The first bookmark in your bookmarks bar is the first bookmark you can assign a keyboard shortcut to, the 2nd bookmark in your bookmarks bar is the 2nd bookmark you can assign a keyboard shortcut to, etc. To assign the keyboard shortcuts to the bookmarks, depending on your brow...
