This extension rewrites them into proper icon-carrying launchers while preserving the original JavaScript verbatim inside the URL — so if you ever uninstall, they self-heal back to their original javascript: form. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WEBHOOK BOOKMARKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Tick one box and a bookmark becomes a silent button: clicking it fires the URL in the background without opening a tab. Perfect for Home Assistant, n8n, Zapier, or any "click = do a thing" trigger you want on your bookmark bar. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Chrome's favicon cache is keyed by URL and has no public write API, so this extension does the plumbing: Plain URLs — the target is opened once in a small focused-off popup so Chrome caches your chosen favicon for that URL. Bookmarklets — rewritten to an extension launcher page that carries the favicon; the original JS is preserved in the URL and self-heals on reinstall. Webhooks — rewritten to a data:text/html URL with the favicon inlined, fired silently on click. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Local-only storage.
