Turn your ebooks and documents into read-aloud audiobooks in Chrome. Book to Listen helps you listen to EPUB, PDF, DOCX, TXT, and Markdown files with built-in text-to-speech voices or optional AI narration through your own OpenRouter API key. Import a book, keep it in a local library folder you choose, and continue reading or listening from where you left off. CONVERT BOOKS AND DOCUMENTS TO READ-ALOUD AUDIO - Import EPUB, PDF, DOCX, TXT, and Markdown files - Listen with built-in voices, no account needed - Optionally connect OpenRouter for AI text-to-speech narration - Choose one narrator, male and female voices, or a character cast - Keep playback running while you work in another tab - Follow the highlighted passage as narration plays LEARN WHILE YOU READ Enable Learn mode, select a word, phrase, or sentence, and see a translation inside the reader without leaving your book. - Use built-in translation for fast translation. - Or use OpenRouter, Ollama, or LM Studio for translation - Set the book language and translation target independently - Use separate providers for narration and translation LOCAL- FIRST READING LIBRARY Your imported books are parsed locally and stored in the folder you choose. Book to Listen has no advertising, no analytics, and no Book to Listen server receiving your books, API key, or reading history. When OpenRouter is enabled, only the text needed for narration or the selected passage for translation is sent directly to OpenRouter. Your OpenRouter API key is encrypted, stored locally, and sent only to OpenRouter.
