Bollard: Website Blocker, No Subscription
Overview
Block distracting sites on a schedule or for a timed focus session. No account, your lists stay in your browser, pay once for Pro.
Bollard blocks the sites you choose, when you choose. WHAT IT DOES (FREE) - Block up to 5 sites. Each site is blocked with all its subdomains, and so are the background requests the site makes (data feeds, live updates, embedded video), not just the page. - Start a focus session of 25, 50 or 90 minutes, or your own length up to 12 hours, from the toolbar. The minutes left show on the toolbar icon. - A calm block page tells you which site is blocked, why, and how long is left. It shows your own note, such as "Calls start at 11:00". No shaming and no ads. - Pause blocking for 5 minutes when you genuinely need a site. Three pauses a day. - See how many times each site was blocked today. The counts stay in your browser. PRO, ONE PAYMENT OF $12.99, NO SUBSCRIPTION - Schedules: block a list on chosen days and times, such as weekdays 09:00 to 12:30, including overnight windows. - Strict mode: while a session or schedule runs, pausing is switched off, and stopping or removing sites needs a 60-character sentence typed out in full. - Daily allowances: for example 20 minutes a day on a site, then it is blocked until midnight. - Keyword and path rules: block every address containing /shorts/, or just one part of a site, without blocking the rest of it. - Unlimited sites and lists (for example "Work" and "Evenings"), export and import of your settings, optional Chrome sync, and a redirect to an address of your choice instead of the block page. Pro features are shown in the extension before you buy, so you can see exactly what you get. Updates are included. PRIVACY Your lists, schedules and counts are stored in your browser. Bollard has no servers, no analytics and no account. It never collects your browsing history or the addresses you visit. Chrome sync is off unless you turn it on. If you buy Pro, the payment is handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe, who take your email and card details on their own pages. PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED - "Block content on any page you visit": this is Chrome's blocking permission (declarativeNetRequest). It lets Bollard block the sites on your list without reading your pages. - Storage: to save your lists and settings in your browser. - Alarms: to start and end sessions and schedules on time. - Access to a single site, only if you agree to Chrome's prompt: when you add a site, so Bollard can show its block page in place of that site (say no and the site is still blocked, with Chrome's standard blocked page), and when you set a daily allowance, so it can count your minutes on that site and nowhere else.
