Clic Companion

Dual Welsh and English subtitles with learner-friendly playback controls on S4C Clic.

Clic Companion helps bring Welsh television—and the Welsh language—closer to everyone. It displays Welsh and English subtitles together while you watch S4C Clic, helping learners connect the Welsh they hear with both the written language and its meaning. Instead of repeatedly stopping to look things up, you can follow the programme, understand more of the conversation and gradually become more comfortable with Welsh as it is genuinely spoken. For learners, it creates a bridge between classroom Welsh and the living language heard in homes, communities and television across Wales. Whether you are returning to Welsh after learning it at school, beginning from scratch or trying to build the confidence to use more Welsh in everyday life, Clic Companion makes authentic Welsh-language content considerably more approachable. For Welsh speakers, it offers a simple way to share Welsh-language programmes with friends, relatives and learners who might otherwise struggle to follow them. It can help more people enjoy Welsh television together, regardless of their current level of Welsh. You can: • Display Welsh subtitles, English subtitles or both together • Replay the current subtitle • Adjust playback speed between 0.7× and 1.3× • Pause automatically after each subtitle line • Open a full programme transcript • Click the Welsh Language Hub logo to discover further Welsh-learning resources Welsh is more than something to study—it is a language to hear, enjoy and use.
