Skimbox - Gmail Summarizer

Instant Gmail thread summaries in Chrome's side panel. On-device AI: no API key, and emails never leave your computer.

Read less, know more. Skimbox summarizes the email you're reading, right beside it. Open any email in Gmail and Skimbox instantly turns it into 3 to 5 key points, plus a clear "Action needed" line when the email asks you to do something. Long reply chains, dense announcements, and newsletters become a quick read. HOW IT WORKS • Press Ctrl+M (or click the Skimbox icon) to open the side panel • Open any email and the summary appears automatically, with no extra clicks • Move between emails and Skimbox keeps up • Press Ctrl+M again to close it PRIVATE BY DESIGN Skimbox uses the AI built into Google Chrome, which runs entirely on your own computer. Your emails are never sent to any server, including ours. There's no account, no API key, and no subscription. FEATURES • Key points from the whole thread, focused on the latest reply • Spots deadlines, dates, and what you need to do • Opens beside Gmail without covering your inbox • Remembers summaries, so reopening an email is instant • Matches light and dark mode REQUIREMENTS Skimbox runs on desktop Chrome on Windows 10/11, macOS 13+, Linux, or Chromebook Plus. Your computer needs 22 GB of free disk space and either a graphics card with more than 4 GB of memory or 16 GB of RAM. The first time you use Skimbox, Chrome downloads its AI model once. After that, summaries work offline. Skimbox is not affiliated with Google. Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC.
