Under the hood it uses Gmail queries such as larger:20M, has:attachment larger:10M older_than:6m, category:promotions older_than:3m and older_than:1y, category:social older_than:6m, category:updates older_than:6m, category:forums older_than:6m, has:newsletter older_than:6m, "unsubscribe" older_than:1y, and from:(no-reply@ OR donotreply@ OR do-not-reply@) older_than:6m. These default rules are tuned to hit old, bulk-style messages, not recent important conversations. HOW IT WORKS For each Gmail cleanup step, Gmail One-Click Cleaner opens the search in your existing Gmail tab, selects all matching conversations, clicks “Select all conversations that match this search” when it is available, clicks Delete to move them to Trash, and repeats a few passes for that filter until there is nothing left to clean. At the same time, a dedicated cleanup progress tab shows a 0–100% progress bar, the current status with the Gmail query and pass number, and a rolling log of what the cleaner is doing in your inbox. You can see exactly which kind of messages are being targeted as the cleanup runs.
