Gmail One-Click Cleaner
Overview
Run a set of bulk Gmail cleanups (promos, social, big attachments, no-reply junk) with a single click.
Gmail One-Click Cleaner helps you quickly free up space and declutter your Gmail with a single click. Instead of manually running search after search and deleting pages of old promo emails, social notifications, and giant attachments, this extension automates the boring part while you watch a clean progress dashboard. What it does ------------ • Runs a series of safe-by-default Gmail searches focused on: – Very large attachments – Old Promotions (ads / sales) – Old Social notifications (follows, likes, etc.) – Old Updates / Forums categories – Old newsletters and marketing emails – Old no-reply / donotreply automated messages • For each search, it: – Opens the search inside your existing Gmail tab – Selects all matching conversations – Clicks “Select all conversations that match this search” when available – Clicks Delete to move them to Trash – Repeats a few passes per search until there’s nothing left to clean for that filter • Shows a live progress page in a separate tab with: – A progress bar from 0–100% – Current status (which query, which pass) – A rolling log of what the cleaner is doing Why it’s useful --------------- • Frees up storage by targeting large old attachments. • Cleans out years of promos and social noise without you having to babysit every search. • Focuses on older, bulk-style mail so the risk of deleting something important is lower. • Still uses Gmail’s Trash, so you can restore messages for a while if you change your mind. Default cleanup rules --------------------- By default, Gmail One-Click Cleaner runs a set of conservative filters such as (simplified): • Very large attachments: – larger:20M – has:attachment larger:10M older_than:6m – has:attachment larger:5M older_than:2y • Old Promotions: – category:promotions older_than:3m – category:promotions older_than:1y • Old Social / Updates / Forums: – category:social older_than:6m – category:updates older_than:6m – category:forums older_than:6m • Newsletters / marketing: – has:newsletter older_than:6m – "unsubscribe" older_than:1y • Auto no-reply style mail: – from:(no-reply@ OR donotreply@ OR do-not-reply@) older_than:6m Advanced users can adjust these queries inside the extension’s code if they want a more aggressive or more conservative cleanup. How to use ---------- 1. Install the extension and pin it to your Chrome toolbar. 2. Open Gmail in a tab (mail.google.com) and make sure that tab is active. 3. Click the Gmail One-Click Cleaner icon and then “Run cleanup”. 4. A progress tab will open; keep it open while the cleaner runs. 5. When it says “Cleanup finished”, you can close the progress tab and review Gmail’s Trash if you’d like. Privacy & safety ---------------- • The extension only runs on mail.google.com. • All logic runs locally in your browser; it does not send your emails to any external server. • Deleted messages go to Gmail’s Trash and follow Google’s normal retention rules. • You should still review the default filters and your Trash the first few times to make sure you’re comfortable with what is being removed. Who this is for --------------- • People with a very full Gmail account and constant “storage almost full” warnings. • Users who are tired of endless promo / social / newsletter clutter. • Anyone who wants a simple, visual, one-click way to bulk clean the obvious junk and old noise out of their inbox. Use at your own risk: always make sure you understand the default Gmail queries before running bulk deletes.
