UltraFit — Ultrawide Video

Fit any video to your ultrawide screen: crop black bars, fill, zoom and stretch, with shortcuts and per-site rules.

Made for 21:9 and 32:9 monitors. Most films are shot wider than 16:9, so on an ultrawide screen they play with black bars on all four sides. UltraFit removes them and fits the picture to your whole screen, automatically. FOUR FIT MODES • Original: the site's normal framing • Crop: finds the black bars and removes them, filling the screen without cutting picture • Fill: always edge to edge, trimming the top and bottom of 16:9 video • Stretch: fills the screen by stretching AUTOMATIC BLACK-BAR DETECTION UltraFit samples the video to measure the real picture (2.35, 2.39, 2.40 and more) and keeps re-checking, so films that switch ratio mid-way stay framed correctly. RATIO PRESETS, ZOOM AND POSITION Pick 16:9, 21:9, 2.39 or 32:9 yourself, zoom from 100% to 150% and nudge the picture up or down. PER-SITE AUTO-APPLY Turn on "Auto-apply on this site" and your setup is used on every video there. Manage all rules on the settings page. ON-VIDEO CONTROLS A short message shows the current mode, and a quick bar slides in from the right edge in fullscreen. EXTRAS • Keep subtitles on screen: redraws built-in captions so a crop can't cut them off • Ambient side glow: a soft glow from the video instead of black side bars on 16:9 content • Only in fullscreen, or also in theater mode • Light and dark themes • Export and import your settings WORKS WITH Any site that plays HTML5 video, including YouTube, Prime Video, Twitch, Vimeo and more. On streaming services that protect their video (such as Netflix, Disney+ and Max) the picture can't be scanned, so you choose the ratio once and UltraFit remembers it for that site. PRIVATE BY DESIGN UltraFit has no account, no analytics and no servers. Everything runs on your computer, and your settings sync only through your own Chrome profile.
