Overview

Protects personal data in AI chats: catches names, IDs, phones and cards before you send them. Everything stays on your device.

Blurr catches personal information before you send it to an AI chat. When you type, paste or attach something on an AI chat site, Blurr looks for personal details in it, on your device, and shows you what it found before the message goes out. You decide, detail by detail: replace it with a placeholder such as PERSON_1, or keep it. Blurr never sends a message for you. WHAT IT LOOKS FOR • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, dates of birth • Card numbers, bank accounts, passwords and API keys • Passport and ID card numbers, US Social Security numbers • For Kazakhstan: the IIN and BIN, ID card numbers, vehicle plates, and phone numbers and addresses as they are written there • Your own private words, if you add them in the settings HOW IT WORKS • While you type, a small Blurr button on the page counts what it has noticed. • After a paste, when you press send, and when you attach a file (text, PDF, Word), a panel lists the details. "Replace selected" swaps them for placeholders; "Keep all" leaves them as they are. Nothing is sent until you send it. • For every supported site, Blurr shows four short answers about what the company says it does with your chats: training, how long they are kept, opting out, deleting. Each answer links to the company's own page. • An overview page counts what you sent unchanged and gives you a privacy score. You can reset it at any time. Works on popular AI chat sites, including ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. The full list of supported sites is in the extension's settings and on blurr.info. PRIVACY • Everything is checked on your device. Blurr does not send what you type, paste or attach to Blurr or to anyone else. • No account, no analytics, no advertising. • Blurr does not store the details it finds. It keeps your settings, and counts of what you sent (how many details of which kind), on your device. • One download: the first time it runs, Blurr downloads a model that recognises names (about 181 MB, once) from Hugging Face. Nothing you write is part of that request. You can use Blurr right away; names are checked more thoroughly once the model is there. LANGUAGES English, Russian and Kazakh. Choose the language on the welcome page or in the settings. PRICE Blurr is free. GOOD TO KNOW Detection is best effort. Blurr can miss a detail, and it can flag something harmless. Read before you send. Terms of Use: https://blurr.info/en/terms Privacy policy: https://blurr.info/en/privacy
