Overview
One-click blur overlay for any tab. Normal, mosaic, and pixelation modes. Runs locally, collects no data.
BlurMyScreen lets you hide your screen content with one click — ideal for video calls, screenshares, working in public, or any moment you need instant privacy. ── Features ── • Three blur modes - Normal: Smooth Gaussian blur applied via CSS filter — covers everything including HTML5 video and canvas elements. - Mosaic: Fine tile pixelation effect using a live screenshot of the page. - Pixel: Large block pixelation for a bold, unmistakable privacy overlay. • Adjustable intensity Slider from 1 to 20 — fine-tune the blur strength to your preference. • Keyboard shortcut Toggle blur instantly with Ctrl+Shift+B (Cmd+Shift+B on Mac) without opening the popup. • Your preferences are saved Blur mode and intensity level are remembered across sessions via local browser storage. ── Privacy ── BlurMyScreen collects no data whatsoever. No analytics, no tracking, no remote servers. All processing happens locally inside your browser. Your preferences are stored only in chrome.storage.local on your own device and never leave it. ── Permissions ── Only three minimal permissions are requested — no broad host access, no "<all_urls>". ---Updates--- Fixed keyboard shortcut conflict on Mac and Windows. The previous shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+B / Cmd+Shift+B) is reserved by Chrome for the bookmarks bar and could not be triggered. Updated to Ctrl+Shift+U (Cmd+Shift+U on Mac), which works as expected.
