Overview

Improve reading on WHO Blue Books with adjustable typography and clearer navigation. Unofficial; requires existing site access.

Read WHO Blue Books with a clearer layout and easier navigation. Blue Books Reader is an unofficial extension that improves the presentation of the WHO Classification of Tumours website while preserving its original text, figures, captions, citations, and links. A MORE COMFORTABLE READING EXPERIENCE • Adjust text size, maximum reading width, and line spacing independently. • Enjoy consistent spacing around headings and paragraphs. • Read long articles using the page’s main scroll, with a section outline that stays visible on wider screens. EASIER NAVIGATION • Jump directly to existing sections and subheadings. • Expand individual chapters or open and close all chapters in a book. • Browse long outlines in expandable groups. • Restore your recent reading position when returning to a page in the same tab. DETAILS PRESERVED • Keep original table structure, merged cells, and footnotes. • View figures with their original identifiers and captions. • Switch off the reading layout whenever you prefer the original presentation. LOCAL PROCESSING Page content is processed locally in your browser. Display preferences are saved in Chrome. Supported page paths, scroll positions, and timestamps are stored in the website’s tab session to restore your reading position; records older than four hours are not used. The extension has no advertising or analytics and does not transmit this data to the developer or third parties. ACCESS AND COMPATIBILITY An existing authorized account or subscription to tumourclassification.iarc.who.int is required. This extension does not provide books, unlock paid content, or bypass access restrictions. The extension supports recognized chapter and article layouts. Compatibility may vary across volumes and editions, and some standalone attachment pages retain their original layout. Screenshots use clearly labelled sample content rather than book excerpts. Blue Books Reader is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by WHO or IARC. It changes presentation—not medical content—and does not summarize, translate, or generate medical information.
