Overview

Split one tab into saved, switchable workspaces

Flincth turns one browser tab into a workspace you can arrange. Keep websites side by side, save your layouts, and switch between workspaces with a click or a keyboard shortcut. WHAT IT DOES • Split one tab into up to eight panes, starting from six layouts. • Enter a website address or search terms in each pane. Searches use your browser's default search provider. • Follow links inside a pane. Its address bar follows the current URL, and its Back and Forward buttons let you navigate independently of the other panes. • Save named workspaces and switch between them from the toolbar popup, workspace tabs or keyboard shortcuts. • Rename a workspace by double-clicking its tab. Delete it with the tab's close button, with an optional confirmation you can re-enable in Settings. • Move a loaded pane without recreating its page. Form entries, scroll position and the live page stay with it during the move. • Reload or reopen a workspace at each pane's latest saved destination. LAYOUTS THAT FIT YOUR WORK Drag dividers to adjust pane sizes. Dividers snap to even splits, useful proportions and nearby divider positions. Hold Alt to resize without snapping, or use the arrow keys on a focused divider. Workspaces you switch away from can stay loaded, up to the limit you choose in Settings. A workspace that is unloaded or a page you explicitly reload may lose unsaved page state. WEBSITE COMPATIBILITY Flincth uses website permissions and workspace-scoped framing rules to display sites in panes. Embedded sites can still have browser or website restrictions affecting sign-in, storage or other features. For sites that need a normal browsing context, open the pane as an attached browser window or open the site in a normal tab. Compatibility with every website is not guaranteed. WEBSITE ACCESS On first installation, Flincth offers optional access to HTTP and HTTPS websites. You can choose Not now and continue organizing workspaces. If access is missing when you activate sites or a workspace, Flincth asks again; without permission, sites remain inactive. Revoke access at any time in Chrome's extension settings. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS Workspaces, settings and each pane's latest URL are saved locally on your device. The temporary per-pane Back/Forward list stays in workspace memory. Flincth has no account, server, analytics, telemetry or crash reporting, and does not upload this information. The tabs permission lets you choose an open tab, focus the existing Flincth workspace, and resolve searches through a temporary tab. Search terms are sent by the browser to your chosen search provider; the temporary tab is then closed. The scripting and webNavigation permissions support a bundled navigation bridge in permitted frames inside Flincth's own workspace tab. It tracks the current pane URL and handles per-pane navigation. It does not read page text, cookies, passwords or form values and does not run in ordinary website tabs. Framing rules apply only to HTTP(S) subframes in Flincth's own tab. They remove X-Frame-Options and Content-Security-Policy response headers and set Sec-Fetch-Dest to document. They do not read request or response bodies or alter cookies. No remotely hosted extension code is used. Websites you open, including search providers, remain governed by their own privacy policies. Flincth does not copy cookies or sign-in data between sites or bypass browser storage restrictions. You can export and import your workspaces as a local file. Uninstalling removes the extension's locally stored data. KEYBOARD Assign up to four browser toolbar shortcuts to your preferred workspaces, and configure workspace shortcuts in Settings. Flincth is free, with no in-app purchases. Privacy policy: https://flincth.com/privacy Support: https://flincth.com/support
