Overview
Blocks short-form video, plus any word, creator or video you choose, on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Snapchat.
Blinders removes short-form video from the sites you already use, and blocks anything else you name. Short-form feeds are engineered to be hard to leave. Blinders takes them off the page: the Shorts shelf, the Reels tab, the swipe player, the nav entries that lead back to them. Open one directly and you get a quiet block page instead, with a deliberate pause before you can override it. WHAT IT BLOCKS • Short-form feeds and players on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Snapchat. • Any word you choose. Add "asmr" and every video whose title, creator or caption says it disappears from your feeds — and opening one is refused. This is not limited to short videos: a forty-minute upload is blocked exactly like a fifteen-second one. • Any creator or single video. Paste a channel, profile or video link. A blocked channel loses its cards in your feed and its watch pages stop opening; a blocked video loses only itself. • The whole site, if you want it. Every platform has a second switch that blocks the entire domain rather than only its short-form surface. TikTok and Snapchat ship that way, because there is little else on them. Turn it off and you are left with a working shorts blocker, not with nothing. HOW IT LETS YOU BACK IN Blocking that cannot be overridden just gets uninstalled. Blinders gives you passes instead: a short, counted allowance, shared across every platform and reset each day. The button sits disabled for five seconds first, which is long enough to notice you are about to scroll. You choose what a pass buys. A one-video pass opens exactly the video you were stopped on and nothing else — the feed around it stays blocked, and there is no timer to race. A timed pass opens the platform for as many minutes as you set. You also choose how many passes a day you get. On YouTube, a blocked Short additionally offers to open in the normal player, which has no swipe feed. ON YOUR SCHEDULE Block around the clock, block only inside the hours you pick, or invert it and allow the feed only inside one window. WHAT IT SHOWS YOU The toolbar shows what it stopped today and across the past week, with a rough estimate of time not spent scrolling. Every figure explains what it counts and what moves it. You can clear the history at any time. PRIVACY Blinders makes no network requests at all. There is no account, no login, no analytics, no crash reporting and no server to talk to. Your settings live in your browser profile, your counts stay on the machine that produced them, and the whole extension works with the network unplugged. Nothing about you is collected, and nothing is sold, because nothing ever leaves the device. Free, in full. Every feature ships to everyone, with no trial timer and no upgrade screen.
