Overview

Local video and audio player with playlists, artwork, 10-band EQ, subtitles, PiP, Web Radio and IPTV/M3U.

Blaze Player for Browser is a multimedia extension designed to play and organize video, music, Web Radio and IPTV directly in your browser. The interface is divided into two dedicated workspaces: Blaze Video and Blaze Audio. Each workspace has its own playlists, recent items and controls, keeping video and audio content clearly separated. LOCAL VIDEO PLAYBACK Blaze Video lets you open individual video files, select multiple files or drag and drop folders directly into the extension. Playback features include seeking, volume control, playback speed, fullscreen mode, frame stepping, rotation, aspect-ratio and fit controls, resume position, previous and next navigation, repeat modes, shuffle and playlist search. Playback relies on browser and system capabilities whenever possible. Compatibility with individual media formats and codecs therefore depends on Chromium, the operating system and available hardware decoding. SUBTITLES AND AUDIO TRACKS External subtitle files can be loaded alongside a video. Compatible embedded text subtitle tracks can also be displayed when available in the source media. Subtitle settings include font selection, size and timing adjustment. Videos containing multiple compatible audio tracks can expose those tracks through the player so the user can switch between available languages or audio streams. PICTURE-IN-PICTURE A manual Picture-in-Picture control allows compatible video content to continue playing in a floating window while the user works in another browser tab or application. When supported by the browser, Blaze can use Document Picture-in-Picture to keep the video and its subtitle overlay together. VIDEO TOOLS Additional tools include screenshot capture, media information, current-track information and playback controls designed for both local files and compatible network streams. BLAZE AUDIO Blaze Audio provides a separate environment for music playback and library management. Users can import individual audio files or entire music folders. Imported folders are added to the music library without automatically filling the playback queue. The library follows an Artist → Album → Tracks structure. When a collection is organized on disk using artist folders containing album folders, Blaze can use that hierarchy to organize the library even when embedded metadata is incomplete. Clicking a track adds it to the audio playlist and starts playback. A Play Album command can add all tracks from the selected album in their proper order. Removing an album or clearing the Blaze library only removes its local library entry. Original files on the computer are never deleted. MUSIC METADATA AND ARTWORK For compatible files, Blaze can read common music metadata such as the track title, artist, album, year, genre and track number. Embedded album artwork can be displayed when available. The extension can also use common cover images stored inside an album folder. The Now Playing area presents the artwork, title, artist and album while more detailed information remains available in the Media Info panel. LARGE LIBRARY SUPPORT Music-library information is progressively processed and cached locally. Album covers are converted into optimized thumbnails and metadata is extracted incrementally to reduce memory usage when importing large collections. Cached information is stored using browser storage technologies so the library can be restored more quickly when the extension is opened again. Background analysis is limited during active playback to reduce unnecessary CPU and memory usage. AUDIO EQUALIZER AND SPECTRUM Blaze Audio includes a 10-band equalizer with adjustable frequency bands and several listening presets. A real-time spectrum display provides a visual representation of the audio while music is playing. Both features are integrated directly into the audio workspace. AUDIO MINI-PLAYER A compact floating mini-player can be opened manually from Blaze Audio. It shows the current artwork or station logo together with the title and essential playback controls, including previous, play/pause, next, mute and volume. For local music, it also displays elapsed time, total duration and a seekable progress bar. WEB RADIO The Audio workspace includes access to Web Radio stations through the Radio Browser directory. Users can choose a country, search available stations and start listening directly from the extension. Station information may include a name, logo and technical stream information when supplied by the directory. Radio lists are cached locally to make previously loaded results available more quickly. Web Radio has its own queue and remains separate from the local music playlist. IPTV AND M3U The Video workspace also includes a dedicated IPTV section. Users can load compatible M3U playlists from a local file or a remote address. Channel names, groups and logos are displayed when that information is provided by the playlist. Compatible adaptive streams can be played using the extension's streaming engines, including HLS and DASH sources. The IPTV section has its own channel list and search interface and does not mix network channels with local video files. IPTV CONNECTION OPTIONS In addition to regular playlist URLs, Blaze supports several connection methods used by legitimate IPTV services, including compatible Xtream Codes and Stalker/MAG portals. HTTP authentication, bearer tokens and custom request headers can also be used when required by a user's own service. Connection credentials are temporary by default. They are stored locally only when the user explicitly chooses the option to remember a connection. Some remote services require additional host permissions. Blaze requests those permissions when they are needed for the selected network source. PROTECTED STREAMS Blaze can use browser-supported encrypted media technologies when a legitimate streaming service provides a compatible DRM configuration. The extension does not bypass content protection, remove DRM or obtain encryption keys outside the mechanisms provided by the service and browser. STREAM DIAGNOSTICS When a network stream cannot be played, the interface can provide diagnostic information about problems such as network failures, authorization errors, unsupported media, invalid manifests or license errors. This information is intended to help the user understand why a stream supplied to the extension could not be opened. SEPARATE MEDIA QUEUES Blaze keeps its different media sources separate. Local videos, IPTV channels, local music and Web Radio each have their own playback queue. Importing one type of content therefore does not mix it with another. Drag-and-drop content is routed automatically to the appropriate Video or Audio workspace. MEDIA INFORMATION A dedicated Media Info panel displays information detected for the currently loaded file or stream. Depending on the media source, this can include container, video, audio, track and music metadata. MEDIA CONTROLS Where supported, Blaze integrates with the browser Media Session API so standard operating-system or browser media controls can interact with the current playback session. PRIVACY AND LOCAL FILES Blaze Player for Browser follows a local-first approach. Local video and music files are opened directly from the user's device and are not uploaded to a Blaze server. Music-library metadata, thumbnails, playback settings and other local preferences are stored inside the browser. Internet access is used only for features that require a network connection, such as Web Radio directories, remote playlists, IPTV streams and other resources explicitly requested by the user. The extension does not inject scripts into ordinary websites and is not designed to track browsing activity. MULTILINGUAL INTERFACE The interface supports multiple languages and can follow the browser language automatically or use a language selected manually in the settings. Blaze Player for Browser is free to use. Users who enjoy the extension can optionally support its continued development through the support link provided inside the application.
