Blank Tab
Overview
Replaces the New Tab page with a completely empty page that follows your system light or dark mode.
Blank Tab replaces Chrome’s New Tab page with nothing at all. No Google logo, no search bar, no shortcut tiles, no news cards. Just a clean, empty page that matches your system’s light or dark appearance. Features: - Pure blank page, white in light mode and dark grey in dark mode. - Tab shows “New tab” with a simple globe icon. - No permissions required. - No JavaScript, no data collected, nothing sent anywhere. First time setup: When you open your first new tab after installing, Chrome will ask “Change back to Google?” This is a standard Chrome prompt shown for any extension that replaces the New Tab page. Click “Keep it” to continue using Blank Tab. You will only see this once. Chrome may also show a small footer bar naming the extension at the bottom of new tabs. Right-click it and choose “Hide footer on New Tab page” to remove it.
