Overview

Read faster on any website. Bolds the start of each word to guide your eyes — adjustable intensity, highlight & per-site memory.

Ever get to the end of a paragraph and realize you didn't absorb a single word? Bionic Reading helps with that. It bolds the first few letters of each word, giving your eyes little anchors to land on. Your brain fills in the rest automatically — so instead of grinding through text word by word, you glide. It sounds like a small change. Then you turn it off and suddenly plain text feels like hard work. Turn it on for one site, or let it run everywhere. It remembers what you picked for each website, so the pages you want stay bionic and the ones you don't are left alone. What you can do • Flip it on or off for any site with one click (or press Ctrl+Shift+E — Command+Shift+E on Mac). • Dial the intensity up or down — Light, Medium, or Strong — until it feels right for you. • Add a soft amber highlight behind the bold part, or keep it clean. Your choice. • Switch on "auto-apply" and it'll quietly activate on every page you open. • It keeps up with you — infinite scroll, web apps, and content that loads as you go all get styled too. • Turn it off and the page snaps right back to normal, links, spacing, and all. Nothing's left behind. About your privacy Everything happens right inside your browser. No accounts, no tracking, no data leaving your device — not your reading, not your browsing, nothing. The whole thing is open source, so you don't have to take our word for it. Getting started Click the icon in your toolbar, flip it on, and adjust until it feels good. That's really it. Free, open source, and works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and other Chromium browsers. Inspired by the Bionic Reading® method created by Renato Casutt.
