Overview
Automatically closes leftover Zoom meeting tabs after launch and restores focus to your previous tab.
Every Zoom meeting link opens a browser tab. Once the Zoom app takes over, that tab has nothing left to do, but it stays open, and it's now the tab in front of you instead of the one you were working in. Meeting Tab Closer by URLflows closes it for you and puts you back where you were. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click a Zoom meeting link the way you always do. 2. Zoom opens the meeting in its app. 3. A few seconds later (six by default) the leftover tab closes. 4. The tab you were on comes back to the front, without pulling the browser window over the Zoom app. There's nothing to set up: it's on from the moment you install it. It recognizes meeting, personal room and post-meeting launch pages on zoom.us and zoomgov.com, including company subdomains. THE TOOLBAR PANEL Click the toolbar icon for the everyday controls. - An on/off switch that shows "Watching for Zoom tabs…" or "Paused", so you can pause it without uninstalling. - The close delay, from 1 to 10 seconds in half-second steps. Raise it if Zoom is slow to start on your machine. - Theme: Dark or Light, a season (or Auto, which follows the current season), or a holiday. The sun and moon button in the header flips between light and dark in one click. - Animation: off by default, or a seasonal animation drifting behind the panel. Match the theme picks one to suit a season or holiday theme. - Activity: how many tabs it has closed and when it last closed one, counted on this machine only. SETTINGS The gear in the toolbar panel opens a settings page with a search box (press / to jump to it) that finds any setting. A first install opens it at Getting started, a short guide to how it works, the close delay and themes. - Meeting tabs: the on/off switch and the close delay. - Activity: the tabs-closed count and the time of the last close, with a button to reset them. - Appearance: Dark and Light, plus seasonal and holiday themes, for the toolbar panel and the settings page. Customize any theme's colors and keep your version alongside the original. The Animation has a live preview, never runs on the pages you visit and stays off when your computer is set to reduce motion. - Backup & restore: export your settings and stats to one file, and import it again on this machine or another. Importing replaces your current settings with the file's. - Resets: reset Meeting tabs, Activity or Appearance on its own, or everything at once. - About: the version, what the extension can access, and the other URLflows extensions. PRIVACY Nothing you do leaves your computer. There are no accounts or servers, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. The extension checks each tab's address as it loads, only to recognize a Zoom meeting link, and never stores or sends those addresses. Your settings and the tabs-closed count are saved in Chrome's local storage on your own machine. The extension injects nothing into the pages you visit and contains no code that sends data off your device. If you uninstall, Chrome opens a short feedback form; answering it is optional.
